Installation of crystal crystal protector

Installation should take place in a dust-free environment, out of direct sunlight, as much as possible. Dust in the air or from the immediate surroundings can easily adhere to the watch surface or the adhesive layer of the crystal protector. This can result in a suboptimal result, which detracts from the appearance of the watch. Therefore, it is important to prevent this.

During installation, take care to prevent scratches caused by tools. Even rubber tools can cause scratches. Test tools beforehand to ensure they can be used without causing damage.

Step-by-step

  • Step 1

    • If the surface is heavily soiled, wash with a pH-neutral cleaning product and a soft brush.
    • Spray the surface to be protected with Spray 1 to degrease it.
    • Wipe the entire surface with the cloth to clean and degrease it.

  • Step 2

    • Spray the surface to be protected with Spray 2 until it is slightly damp.
    • Carefully remove the protector from the white base film using the tweezer.
      Please note: do not apply too much pressure with the tweezer on the film. This will prevent the corners and edges of the tweezer from leaving marks on the protector.
    • Next, place the protector on the surface that needs to be protected by slowly lowering it from an edge onto the surface.
    • The fluid from Spray 2 on the surface that needs to be protected ensures that the protector adheres to the surface without air bubbles.


  • Step 3

    • If necessary, slide the protector to the center of the surface that needs to be protected.
    • Due to the fluid between the protector and the surface that needs to be protected, the protector will not yet be firmly attached. Therefore, it can be carefully slide into the center of the surface.

  • Step 4

    • Gently press with the spudger from the center of the applied protector and rub gently towards the edges. Repeat this until the entire surface of the protector is covered.
    • This bonds the protector to the surface and removes excess moisture from beneath the protector.
    • Remove the colored protective film from the glass protector with the tweezer.

  • Step 5

    • Gently rub a finger over the edges of the protective film to press it down.
    • Repeat this step a few more times in the coming days for optimal adhesion.

  • The Chaperon crystal protector is now applied to your watch! The adhesive will now harden. Therefore, wait at least 48 hours (sometimes up to 72 hours depending on temperature and humidity) before wearing the watch. Avoid water, rain, and high pressure during this curing period.
